Pipe Organ Box

In constructing the large scale Pipe Organ Desk I learned a lot about making actual wooden organ pipes. The box version utilizes the same organ pipe design just on a small scale. However, the box has one small advantage over the desk. It can be picked up and flipped over (the desk weighs over 200 pounds). Thus, the Pipe Organ Box stays locked with gravity and opens with music.

The six pipes are whistles and form a pan-flute. On the back of the box is a tune I engraved. Should you play this tune, the box will unlock.

This Pipe Organ Box was made as a very special gift for the host of the International Puzzle Party that took place in Washington DC 2012.
