Diamond Book

In December 2004 I made four of these as gifts for my family. As a book it is still in the prototype form. I expect to release a Book edition in the near future.

The mechanism is called the Diamond Lock. It is a combination of the Pinwheel Mechanism and the Decorated Mechanism. The book is locked in the photograph. To unlock it you must shrink the diamond to a point and then re-enlarge it, but instead of a dark wood it will be a light wood!

Of course the Diamond Lock would look very nice on a box.....
